ELI International Peer Advisor Program
Who is an International
Peer Advisor (IPA)?
Eastern Washington University
students who are matched with a small group of ELI students
What do they do?
- Meet you at the airport
and drive you to the campus
- Help you get settled
in your residence hall room
- Take you on field trips
(see photo album) Examples of these activities
include: day trips to Spokane,
weekend skiing trips, weekend camping trips, indoor
rock climbing, laser tag, and parties with the IPAs
- Answer questions about
American culture and how to get along
- Show you how to use the
bus system for Cheney/Spokane
- Students are always
welcome to call their IPAs for advice or help

Who is a Cultural Mentor?

What do they do?
- Are available for the
times when you need to speak to someone in your own
language. The ELI tries to always have a Cultural Mentor
available for each language.
