Address Bar
noun

A text box near the top of a web browser window where you can type (enter) a URL for a Web site.

BlackBoard
noun

A web site for this course. It has places for storing course information and documents on the World Wide Web. It also helps students and instructors to communicate. The URL (address) for BlackBoard is: http://blackboard.ewu.edu/

Internet
noun

A group of many, many computers that allows people with computers to exchange information.

noun

A special word or picture on a web page that you click on to move quickly from one web page to another web page.

Plug-in
noun

A computer application (program) that works with a browser to allow you to view, hear, or use a special kind of file.

Title Bar
noun

The top part of a web browser window which has the page’s name or title on it. Example:

URL
noun

An internet address (Universal Resource Locator). A URL is usually typed in the address bar in a web browser. Example: http://blackboard.ewu.edu

Web Browser
noun

Software which lets you view web pages.
Examples are Internet Explorer    and Netscape Navigator
